On our menu you’ll find home cooked, fresh food that changes on a weekly or even daily basis: modern English classics such as roasted ham hock with an old favourite like spotted dick and custard to follow.

Our philosophy is simple: let the quality of the food speak for itself. Don’t dress it up with fussy presentation or unnecessary additional ingredients. That, and a passion for really fresh produce.

Chef Richard Knighting tailors his menu daily to take advantage of the very freshest local produce, whether that be from our regular suppliers, or one of the locals who drop in from time to time with surplus veg fresh from the allotments behind the pub.

With a constantly evolving menu there’s always something new to try, making it a great alternative to week day cooking. And who wants to do the washing up on a Monday anyway?

Our large session table in the lounge bar can comfortably accommodate parties of twelve (even more if you don’t mind a squeeze) making the Marlborough Tavern the perfect venue for a lunch or dinner with friends or family.
